SMS terms

RyteDesk is an AI assistant that local businesses use to talk with their own customers. When a business turns on text messaging, RyteDesk sends and receives texts on that business’s behalf. This page explains how that works for the people who receive those texts.

Who is texting you

Each text identifies the business it comes from. The business is responsible for having your permission to contact you. Ryteway Labs LLC provides the technology.

What the messages are

  • A reply after you call or text a business, for example when a call was missed.
  • Answers to questions you ask by text or website chat.
  • Appointment reminders and follow-ups about a booking or quote you asked for.
  • A request for a review after an appointment.

We do not send messages about unrelated products, and we do not use text messaging to move money.

How you agree

You agree to receive texts from a business by contacting it and providing your number, by booking an appointment with it, or by ticking a consent box where the business collects your number. The business keeps a record of when and how you agreed. Consent to texting is never a condition of buying anything.

Frequency, costs, opting out

  • Message frequency varies with your activity with the business.
  • Message and data rates may apply, as set by your mobile carrier.
  • Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts from that business. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to resume.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email hello@rytedesk.com.

Your information
